Implementing ExcelTL Enabled Parallel Operation and Restarted Our Core System Migration
Town Kanri Service Co., Ltd. is a rental property management company with over 30 years of history. Recently, we launched a project to replace our aging proprietary core rental management system with Salesforce.
While the initiative was being led by our newly established DX promotion department with a small team, switching all departments to the new system simultaneously was not realistic due to internal circumstances. As a result, the project temporarily stalled.
To address this, we shifted to a phased migration approach, operating the existing system and Salesforce in parallel. ExcelTL was selected as the key ETL tool supporting this strategy.
We also evaluated ETL products from other vendors. However, for a company of our size, many options were over-specified, making investment decisions difficult. In contrast, ExcelTL allows transformation logic to be defined using familiar Excel-based configurations, making it easy to share screen images and processing details internally. Including its pricing, we felt it was a well-balanced solution suitable for mid-sized and small-to-medium enterprises.
Because we adopted ExcelTL shortly after its release, some adjustments were required initially. However, the development and support teams responded sincerely and promptly each time.
As a result, daily parallel operation jobs are now running in the production environment, and the previously stalled core system migration project is moving forward again.
Salesforce provides a standard Data Loader. However, in cases like ours—where we aim to perform data cleansing while migrating—having a tool that allows flexible processing configuration locally is highly effective. ExcelTL has proven valuable not only as a migration platform for parallel operation, but also as an extended alternative to Data Loader for daily data updates and bulk maintenance. It is becoming a reliable foundation supporting our use of Salesforce.
Core system migration is a long-term initiative for our company.
Within that context, ExcelTL made our parallel operation scenario realistically executable. We expect it to become an important partner supporting our future migration and ongoing operations.
